Kent Ranch is one of the most desirable communities in Escondido, California. Residents enjoy the hillside landscape and the recreational venues nearby.

This community is served by the Escondido Union School District and the Escondido Union High School District. There are many parks and lakes in this region. Dixon Lake is stocked with trout and offers fishing, camping, boating, and hiking. Daley Ranch is a preserve that offers more than 3,000 acres of historical property. There are also 26 miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. To the northeast is the Reidy Creek Golf Course which offers 18 unique holes, beautiful water features, and challenging bunkers designed by Cal Olson. This venue also hosts weddings and other special events.

There are many shopping venues in Escondido like Westfield North County, Escondido Village Mall Shopping Center, and Escondido Promenade. This city’s downtown region has been busier in the last few years as several art galleries, cafes, and restaurants have opened.

Escondido is one of San Diego County’s oldest cities and was incorporated in 1888. Its name means “hidden” in Spanish and is thought to refer to “hidden water” or “hidden treasure.”
